Ottawa to play with Marseilles and Grand Ridge
We have been in talks with Ottawa South Side in respect to playing with them this up coming season. We are in the preliminary stages but have hammered out a basic agreement for both the boys and the girls. We are looking to play each one of the Ottawa teams once during the season for an additional 5 games per team and will split the locations as evenly as possible between the three towns. Due to low numbers for all the towns concerned we felt it was a good choice to team up to insure a fun, exciting and competitive season. We will post more information as the details are worked out.
Little league draft completed
Tryouts and draft for players at the Little League division are complete and players should be hearing from their coaches this week. Teams may start practicing as soon as weather and coaches schedules allow. This year we will have three teams at both the major and minor boys level and three teams at the minor girls level and one at the major girls level. We are not alone in low enrolment; Grand Ridge and Ottawa are also reporting low numbers. This is one of the primary reasons we have looked for additional teams to play against to ensure a fun and competitive season. We are still working on all the details and will begin on scheduling of the games as soon as those details are worked out. As soon as the schedule is ready your coaches will give you a copy and one will be posted here on the website as well.
All coaches,
Please pass along to your players that we have set up March 27th thru April 3rd for special discounts at MC Sports in Peru. If you go in there during this time, you are eligible for 2 – 20% off coupons per player. We have given them our rosters so you just have to ask and they will verify on the list.
Also, don’t forget to hand out the coupons for Dick’s Sporting Goods to your players. If you have not gotten these packets yet, let me know and I can get them to you.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks
,

Tag Day and Clean Up Day Saturday, April 10th
As the season quickly approaches we still have much to do. One of the ways we raise money for the league to hold our annual tag day, all players at the Little League division canvas the town asking for donations, once they receive a donation the patron will be given a "tag" a sticker stating they support our program. This usually takes about an hour and a half at which point the teams meet up again at the diamonds and turn in the money they have received. This year after Tag Day we will be holding our Clean up Day. All players and parents are strongly encouraged to help in getting the diamonds ready for the season. Wear gloves and bring yard tools such as rakes, hoes, and shoves. With everyone’s help it should not take more than a couple of hours to get all three fields ready. We will have food and refreshments for all that attend.
