Stats at a Glance
.
The season is off to a wet start, we have had to cancel a few games as well as play in the rain and mud. Seems like we just can't get a break, even on nights when the forecasters predicted clear skies we ended up getting wet. There have been a few good days in which we have been able to play and the teams are coming along nicely. Here are a few photos Jamie was able to capture one night, all pictures will be attached to links in the photo button once the home page is updated and hopefully he can take more during the season. I have noticed many parents taking pictures during the games and if you would like them on the web site click the contact us button and submit them. We hope to get at least one of every player before the season is over.
Picture day is almost here, Saturday May 16th. Your coaches will be handing out picture packs and we will be scheduling times for the teams to have them taken. All players should be in full uniform (no gloves or bats) and need to be at the fire station at least 10 minutes before your scheduled start time. Lannings Studios will be taking the pictures again this year and can photograph an entire team in about 7 minutes, so it is very important that we are not waiting for one or two players from a team to show up.

Vegas Night is Saturday night; this is one of our larger fundraisers put on by the Marseilles Lions club on our behalf. At registration everyone received 2 tickets to the event, this entitles you to a free, all you can eat buffet and drinks. A cash bar is available for those who wish. After dinner many tables are set up with different games of chance. Some say skill but for me if I win its all luck. The lions club donates all proceeds from the event back to our program, which we use to make improvements to the fields, purchase equipment and uniforms. We ask every one of the parents to attend this year and enjoy a fun night out in a relaxed atmosphere (sometimes a little to relaxed). But it’s all good fun for a great cause. Line up your sitters and join us starting at 6pm.

Player of the Week
I would like to nominate Von Sarver for player of the week last week. Von played 3rd base and batted 3 for 6 with a walk. He had two singles and a triple with bases loaded. On defense while playing 3rd base Von made a diving stop and as the runner was going by he was able to reach up from the ground and tag him out.

I have been waiting to post this hoping to get a picture of Von to go along with the article. Unfortunately we do not have one and I could not wait any longer. Coaches get your nominations in soon.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we now have a board position open, anyone wishing to run should contact us through the link so we can look over all applications and vote on the matter at the next board meeting.
