Start submitting those nominations for player of the week. If we do not have a photo of the player we need time to get one.
I would like to thank the Marseilles Lions Club for hosting Vegas Night last night, Saturday May 17th. Ken Lane attended their board meeting Tuesday night, May 20th and was presented with a check, on behalf of the league, for $3700.00 This represents the profits made from Vegas night including the tickets we sold at registration. As great as that amount is it could have been better if more of you parents had attended. The Lions club works hard and does a great job putting the event on and we appreciate it greatly, and if we hope for them to continue to do so in the future we have to do our part. Lets see if we can make next year the biggest event they have seen in years.
All-Stars
We have begun the process of planning the All-Star tournaments. We have had to move our boys tournament to the second week of July, (insted of the usual third) because Sandwich moved theirs. We are also planning our girls tournaments for the third week in July. This year we hope to have at least three tournaments for each, including our own. We ask all the Marseilles coaches to begin thinking about who they are going to nominate for All-stars, put stats together to back your nominations and have copies ready for the meeting we will have mid-June. Also before you nominate a player make sure they are available to play the entire month of July or do not nominate them. This year we will only have 12 per team, no alternates.
Coaches
Please get stats in as soon as you can, preferably no later than the night after your game. Many teams have not submitted stats this week at all and some have only submitted once. The idea is to allow the opposing team to see who has pitched and how many innings they have left.
The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime.

Coaches may pick them up at the old concession
stand anytime during regularly scheduled games.
Or you may call Ed to arrange a time to pick them up.
Player of the Week
Player of the Week
I am nominating Kyle Hill this week, he went 9 for 10 with 2 homeruns and 1 double. He was hit by a pitch, had 2 walks, 3 singles, and 1 strike out. We had three games that week. The home runs came in a 8-4 win against the Cardianls in which he had a third hit that hit the top of the fence and came back in otherwise he would have had 3 of them.
He ended the week with 6 rbi's. He also scored the only run in a one run win against Grand Ridge blue. During the game against Grand Ridge black he played second base and had two excellent plays in which he made two diving catches in high winds.
Kyle is 12 years old and plays basketball and flag football. He likes to mow grass and loves to do outside work. Kyle plays, center field, catches, pitches, and plays 2nd base.
