Unfortunately due to time constraints, Jamie Klock will no longer be able to take photos this year. If there are any parents that can take photos during the games, not only of their team but also of the team they are playing it would be greatly appreciated. You would send them to us through the contact link. The players enjoy seeing themselves during the game and I like to be able to post photos with players of the week submissions. So your help would be greatly appreciated.

Stats at a Glance
.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we now have a board position open, anyone wishing to run should contact us through the link so we can look over all applications and vote on the matter at the next board meeting.
Concession Stand
We were informed yesterday that our concession stand is now going to have to follow strict guidelines from the Illinois Department of Heath. This includes passing inspections and having a certified food handler over see the concession stand. This law not only affects our concession stand but all that serve hot food, which includes the city pool. The city has hired a certified food handler to take care of both locations but we (the workers) have to follow some very specific rules. First Frequent hand washings is a must. When handling food we must wear gloves (which we have in the concession stand). No open toe shoes are allowed, meaning no flip-flops or sandals. If you are scheduled to work be sure to wear appropriate shoes for the evening. And finally no smoking within 15 feet of the concession stand openings. We realize that this seams like a lot but if we want to keep our concession stand running and serving hot food we must all work together to make sure we all follow these rules. We spend a lot of time at the diamonds and without a concession stand it would be unbearable not only of the kids but us adults as well, not to mention that the concession stand does more than provide snacks, we also pay our umpires and tower workers from the money taken in each night and without it we could not afford to pay them.
Pictures are in
Pictures are done, they are in the concession stand ready for pick up. Coaches stop by and pick them up before your next game. If there is a problem with your pictures you should let Jerry Lanning know as soon as possible so he may correct the problem, his phone number will be on the picture packs you receive.
Rainouts
Due to the large number of rainouts and cancellations due to track we are going to have to start rescheduling games on Saturdays. This may cause teams to play 3 and four games a week sometimes on back to back nights. This can not be helped as we can not control the weather, but we need to get all the games played within the allotted time frame. If you have a game that needs to be rescheduled please submit a reminder as to the date of the cancellation, the team you were to play as well as your team through the contact is link. Coaches inform your parents that they will still be responsible to work the concession stand as if the game was played on it regularly scheduled night.
Practicing on the diamonds during the day time
It has been brought to my attention that there are several people practicing on the diamonds during the day time. If you want to practice during the day time you must do it in the morning as the afternoons are off limits while the fields are being prepared for games. If you are at the diamonds for any reason and see fresh chauk lining the fields stay off. If you do not know if it is fresh stay off just incase, we do not have time to go back and reline the fields because someone messed it up.
Dogs at the field
At this point we do not have a rule that prohibits dogs at the diamonds, this may change if things continue as they are. If you feel you must bring your dog to the games they must be on a leash and in the control of an adult and you must clean up after them. We have too many people at the diamonds to worry about dogs as well, not to mention the health aspects. This is a Sports complex not a dog park so the best thing to do is simply leave them at home as I do.
Player of the week
I would like to nominate Paige Lehr & Emily Despain for player of the week. On May 28th they combined for a perfect game on the mound. They faced the minimum of 18 batters, had 15 strike outs, and no hits. Together, so far this season, they've led Golden Rule Lumber to a 7-0-1 record.
Jim Heth
Great job girls! Hopefully we can get photos of the both of you to add to this article, Keep up the good work.
